I’m Michelle “Banjo” Whelan, an enthusiastic instructional designer with a passion for learning and education in my professional life.

 

The nickname "Banjo" came from my old days as a roller derby player, and it stuck. Nowadays, I like to write weird and spellbinding stories.

 

I began my writing journey back in 2020 when I couldn't find anything I wanted to read involving STEM, nerdy girls, and/or weird girls—stories that are a little wild yet fun, as well as set in today’s time with a sci-fi or paranormal feel.

 

I also enjoy writing fictional autobiographies with a twist, as I have a testacy to write in first person perceptive, and have started creating my podcast, "Learning and Development," about two friends starting a learning and development company that is quirky and unhinged.

 

In my personal life, I am a full-time nerd with a passion for the weird. I love the paranormal, folklore, science fiction, and technology. I enjoy nerding out with my friends and my family.
